Announcing Our VIP Table Host Role at The Barrow Club for 2025 - Plus Top B2B Networking Tips

I’m very excited to share that in 2025, I’ll be representing Bozboz as a VIP Table Host at the Barrow Club. Having been a guest at The Barrow Club since October 2023, this unique networking event is one of the best around and I’m thrilled to be stepping into this prestigious seat.

First Impressions

Our journey with The Barrow Club began thanks to my good friend Jimmy Phouang, owner of Eco Recruitment Group, who's not only largely responsible for roping me into Brighton's networking scene but also brought me to my first Barrow Club event. Let’s be honest, networking can sometimes feel like going to a wedding where you don’t know anyone. You stand around awkwardly, trying to figure out how to join a conversation. But The Barrow Club was completely different.

From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with open arms. People introduced themselves straight away, and Jimmy made a few key intros to get me started. Before I knew it, I was right in the swing of things. The first experience had me hooked. Unlike traditional networking events where you’re stuck in one noisy room or sit at the same table all evening, The Barrow Club has a refreshing twist. Guests rotate tables with each course, so you get to meet a broad mix of people from a variety of different businesses and sectors - all in the fancy setting of The Grand Hotel in Brighton.

The private dining room with it's touch of Brighton’s history, creates the perfect atmosphere for real conversations. Add in top-notch service, amazing food and drink and sound business advice from a guest speaker each month and you’ve got a recipe for a standout event. After dinner, the networking continues with a more relaxed vibe, and I’ve made some incredible connections at these events.

The Table Hosts

As a VIP Table Host at the Barrow Club representing Bozboz, I’ll be joining a stellar line up of business leaders:

Paul Britton of Britton and Time Solicitors, Chris Mansfield from Fusion Business Catalyst, Rebecca Blott from Castle Garden Rooms and Matthew Cox from Charles Cox Property Group. It’s a real honour to share hosting duties with these talented business minds, and I can’t wait to help others make the same kind of connections I did when I first joined.

Top Tips for B2B Networking

Networking can be daunting, but The Barrow Club makes it fun and effective. Here are my top tips for getting the most out of your networking experience:

  1. Help, Don’t Sell - Focus on how you can help others rather than pitching your services straight away. People remember genuine interactions.
  2. Be Yourself - Authenticity goes a long way. Build relationships by being natural and approachable. Make friends, not just business connections.
  3. Keep It Simple - When explaining what you do, be clear and concise. Skip the jargon and focus on how you can help.
  4. Do Your Homework - Check the attendee list beforehand. Know who you’d like to meet and have a few questions ready to break the ice.
  5. Follow Up - After the event, take the time to follow up with the people you met. A quick message or email goes a long way in keeping the connection alive.
  6. Bring Business Cards - Digital tools are great, but tech can sometimes play hardball. Cards are simple and effective.

I’m looking forward representing Bozboz, helping businesses with their web design and development needs and contributing to The Barrow Club’s growing community. If you’re considering attending one of these events, I can’t recommend it enough. No matter if you're new to networking or a seasoned pro, The Barrow Club offers an unparalleled experience that’s equal parts professional and enjoyable.
